Libertas tells the story of a girl who travels to the sacred site of Uluru in the aftermath of a tragedy where she finds rebirth.
ABOUT FILMMAKERS
One of the most prolific of Singapore’s new generation filmmakers, Kan Lume’s debut feature film, The Art of Flirting, was named Best ASEAN Feature at the 2005 Malaysian Video Awards. It was also in competition for Best Film in Jeonju International Film Festival under Digital Spectrum and was an Official Selection for over a dozen film festivals worldwide, including Singapore International Film Festival, Belgium, India, Indonesia, Toronto, Norway. His second feature SOLOS, part one of a trilogy exploring human sexuality, was nominated for the silver screen awards at Singapore International Film Festival 2007 and is the first local film to be in competition at the prestigious AFI Los Angeles.
Megan Wonowidjoyo specialises in figurative and South East Asian depictions in her hallmark style of dramatic compositions and detailed paintings. Adept at using protagonists within a complex background, she seeks to find the metaphysical in the ordinary and to reveal the soul in the rhythms of daily life. Megan’s accolades include winning the Kanagawa World Children’s Art Prize, nominations in BSG Art Prize and KUDO’s Emerging Artist Award.
