Japanese filmmaker Masahiro Sugano tells the story of a young artist from the countryside (played by Som Thea). He travels to the capital Phnom Penh in the hopes of fulfilling his mother’s dream for his artistic success. His encounters reveal a social terrain of foreign connoisseurs and local art lovers. VEASNA”S PAINTING is the second film of a trilogy called “ANOTHER DAY” by Studio Revolt. This collaborative media lab is founded by Masahiro Sugano and his Khmer-American partner Anida Yoeu Ali, who produce motion imagery and performance projects in the USA and in Cambodia.
